Mis-reading Situations

March 30th, 2006

I’m sure you already see the parallel. It has to do with time and practice, and with the kinds of emotions you habitually use for dealing with daily events. The range of emotions you’re currently using are very effective for keeping you angry… or frustrated… or depressed.
And of course, you have every right to those emotions. They’re yours, you’re very good at them, and you can use them all you want to.
But now and then you might want to stop and ask yourself whether the feelings and reactions you’re using are really appropriate to the life you say you want to live.
If the results you’re getting on a consistent, daily basis are uncomfortable – then guess what; you’re doing something that’s inappropriate to the situation you’re in. And that’s usually caused by mis-reading what the situation means.
