How to Change Your Life (without Doing a Thing!)
Most of us think about making change happen in terms of “what I need to do.” We believe that by making a to-do list or setting a goal and then putting in our best effort we can really change things. I do believe these steps are often useful. Yet I don’t think *pushing* so hard for change is always the best answer. Instead, I’d say we should be working more to not work so hard at all.
I’m kidding, right? Doesn’t this fly in the face of typical ideas about work ethic and achievement to success models?
Maybe it does. But an important question to ask here is, “What kind of success do I want to achieve?” If you’re trying to change your life, you’re likely unhappy about something you want to eliminate or something you don’t already have. In order to get (or get rid of) that element, you’re going to need to be in a place where it makes sense for that thing to happen. That means you’re going to need to change who you are at the very core.
