At 2.1 million, America’s prison population has reached an all time high, exceeding all other nations in the world. In June of 2002, at the request of L.A. County Sheriff Lee Baca, Michael Levine, a renowned Hollywood publicist, ventured from his office in Beverly Hills into the largest jail in the free world to discuss this problem face to face with some of America’s most dangerous, high security inmates.
