Life Power Tip #450

April 28th, 2008 No comments

Listen to your hunches and intuition.

When I look back, at pivotal turning points in my life, I notice the number of times I’d not listened to my inner voice, and instead, took action based on a well-meaning advice from friends. In retrospect, and with 20/20 hindsight, I see it may have served me better to stick with my initial ‘gut instinct’.
In the words of Kim Basinger, “I feel there are two people inside me – me and my intuition. If I go against her, she’ll screw me every time, and if I follow her, we get along quite nicely.”

Confidence

April 26th, 2008 No comments

De gyllene portarna av Ghiberti på baptisteriet i Florens. foto Bryngel DomeijImage via WikipediaI created a lovely little page that you are welcome to share with friends who may want a little pick-me-up. Here’s the Confidence Generator for you.

The next edition of the Triggers Personal Development Ezine will be out again on the 1st of May. Be in the know and pick up all the fantastic new resources by subscribing at the Triggers Subscription page.

You also simply must get over to I Create Power to take up one of the remaining, Limited Memberships. Christopher is offering a reduced price to a reserved number because he wants guidance and feedback as he continues to build the five main I Create Power courses.
I definitely recommend that you get over there today and check it out, before this unique offering disappears completely!

I spotted a beautiful example of an instance that demonstrates how it is sometimes a really good idea to walk away from a problem for a while, and completely just ‘be’ with it for a while. Watch this clever, short video about The Bouncing Bomb, and you’ll see what I mean. As Leonardo Da Vinci once said, “Every now and then go away, have a little relaxation, for when you come back to your work your judgment will be surer; since to remain constantly at work will cause you to lose your power of judgment. Go some distance away because the work appears smaller and more of it can be taken in at a glance, and a lack of harmony or proportion is more readily seen.”

For your enjoyment, here is a photo that I took recently of a Canna in my garden.

I also want to share with you, part of a lovely email that I received this week from a site visitor. I really loved how she described the Forward Steps website. Thank you.
Your site is really beautiful – all lavender and roses and afternoons. Late afternoon in summer, with sun still coming through the glass door from the porch. It’s like being in a lovely peaceful tidy and clean house with time to yourself. Sigh.

Trust there will be more opportunities

April 25th, 2008 1 comment

Van Gogh's IslandImage by logan.fulcher via FlickrWell, I must have done something right because now I am bombarded with a flurry of opportunity, you could even call it an abundance! The only problem is I am now in overwhelm! It’s like going from drought to flood, I have opportunities coming out of my ears and it’s growing by the day.
Now, while I acknowledge that I have widened the flow to allow these opportunities to be available to me, the fact I am overwhelmed and want to take them all is an indication of underlying lack-based thinking running the show.
I openly admit that I want to grab all of the opportunities as I am scared I will appear ungrateful to the Universe and will not be given more opportunities – that’s lack! Luckily enough I am surrounded by great people who are able to point out these things to me.
What I’ve realised is that as I become more skilled at manifesting what I want, there will be an abundance of what I want showing up. Overwhelm may seem like an issue with abundance at it’s core but beware, look very closely at why you are experiencing it. Is it because you are scared to let anything pass you by? If it is, ask your self why? How much do you trust there will be more opportunities coming your way?

Project Wonderful

April 25th, 2008 No comments

Project Wonderful reinvents online advertising. They’ve made click fraud impossible. They give advertisers the power to choose what sites their ads appear on – and publishers the freedom to choose what ads show up on their sites.

They don’t have absurdly high minimum-payout levels. They’ve made the entire online advertising experience transparent, trustworthy, and fair – as well as more profitable, for everyone involved! It’s why their slogan is “Everybody wins.”

Let’s say you’re an advertiser, and you want to put your ad on a certain site. To do this, you just place a bid in that site’s auction. Bidding is a fast and easy process where you tell them two important pieces of information: what you want to pay, and when you want to pay it.

Their system examines all bids, every second of every day. If you’re the person willing to pay the most at that moment, your ad is displayed on the site! It’s really as easy as that. You’re only charged for the time in which your ad is the high bidder – and all charging is done to the nearest second.

You can change your maximum bid, or cancel it entirely, at any time. And they provide full performance tracking for your bid (displays, unique viewers, clicks, effective cost-per-click and cost-per-display rates). It’s entirely up to you.

As a publisher
, you decide how you want ads to appear on your site, and where. You can choose the type of ads you want (graphical, text) and their size (banner ads, skyscraper ads, and so on), and how many of these ads you want. Once the code is added to your site, the auction has begun!

As advertisers bid on your site, you remain in full control. You can decide to approve the ads by hand, or choose to trust ads and advertisers you’ve approved in the past. You can cancel any bid you don’t like at any time, and it’s gone within the second.

Every second that someone is a high bidder on your site, you’re earning funds that goes directly into your account: funds that you can spend advertising your own site, or that you can take out as soon as you’ve earned at least $10. And you have access to the same performance data that advertisers can see, so you know how well your site is performing for your advertisers.

Make your life more interesting

April 25th, 2008 No comments

Buster McLeod changed his name from Erik Benson, on the flip of a coin, in September of 2006. Buster lives in Seattle, WA. He’s co-founder of The Robot Co-op (self-help internet startup) and recently, McLeod Residence (art gallery and club house).

Buster McLeod wrote a book called Man Versus Himself, and believes life is art. He believes in doubling down on big living, big loving, big risk, and big change.

Here is Buster’s manifesto of 12 things you can do to make your life more interesting. They are:

1. You must not dilly-dally.
2. You must be your word.
3. You must have good intentions.
4. You must admit to being the maker of meaning.
5. You must not feel sorry for yourself.
6. You must have a vision that you are striving for.
7. You must tie creativity and experimentation with survival.
8. You must be the change.
9. You must rally others with your vision.
10. You must stake your reputation on your better self.
11. You must be responsible for your own failure and success.
12. You must be comfortable with big failure.

Life Power Tip #449

April 25th, 2008 6 comments

Expect good fortune.

Live from the perspective that the universe is conspiring, right now, to bring you exactly what you want and need. Expect a miracle every day. Feel the joy of living in that knowledge or belief, and often do things or take actions to maintain that state of being for yourself.

Power of Judgement

If you wait to do everything until you’re sure it’s right, you’ll probably never do much of anything…Win Borden

Align your conscious and subconscious

April 22nd, 2008 No comments

If your subconscious feels that your goal is not realistic and that going for it might cause you too much pain, it will arrange for obstacles to stop you. If your subconscious feels that, in its’ estimation, your latest goal is possible, it might assist you in achieving it. Why do I just say that it might assist you rather than it would assist you? Because your subconscious also looks at your record in following through with your decisions, especially decisions you make that require you to go outside your comfort zone without all the skills and everything else in place. If your record in taking the required actions despite your fears is good, then your subconscious will assist you in continuing to go outside your areas of comfort. In other words, your subconscious will assist you in going after goals that you have not already achieved before because you have developed a habit of going after goals that you have not already achieved before.
It is an amazing thing. On the one hand, your subconscious will determine what you can achieve in the future by looking at what you have achieved in the past. So we might say that your past determines your future to a large extent. On the other hand, your subconscious looks at your ability and willingness to tackle what you have not achieved before. It looks at how you have handled failure in the past. If your subconscious determines that you can handle failure, that you have decided not to be devastated by the results of going after something bigger than your past, then your subconscious will willingly assist you in stretching yourself. Your goal becomes an adventure for both your conscious and your subconscious.
Your conscious might make the initial decision. But it is your subconscious that determines what is possible. So the way to change your ability to achieve your goals is to actively bring your conscious and subconscious together. Make sure they agree and are aligned together.
