Judging a book by its cover
Take a peek. Have a listen at the video. Notice the before and after looks on the faces of the judges and the audience. Also notice Susan’s determination to remain unphased as she stands before them all on that stage. They had taken one look at her and made a false judgment, but even now, they are looking at Ms. Boyle in the light of having at least given this lady a chance. Her gift to sing beautifully far out-shines the way she is perceived if one were to judge the outside package alone.
Susan Boyle is a beautiful life lesson in simple trappings. She had the courage to stand there, wiggle, smile, joke, in spite of the initial reactions she garnered, and that lady sang. Public speaking, public performance of any kind, is the number one fear among people every where. During her five minutes of fame, now far extended, this woman taught at least three lessons: be yourself, be courageous, use your talent – no matter what.
The saddest thing is that too many pre-judge at all!
