How Long Is A Very Long Time?

5x5 black and white checker.[Image via Wikipedia] is about having a little bit of fun out there in internet lalaland.

The idea is simple. One million sites listed, each getting one million banner ad impressions. This equates to one trillion, hence the Mission: One Trillion Served. Here is the plan:

February 14, 2009 to February 14, 2010 (or as long as it takes – which they realize may be a very long time) they want to serve One Trillion 50 x50 banner ads on There is a checkerboard (10 x 10) with 100 banners shown at any given time on

Entering is simple. Fill out the form on ‘Get Your Spot’ and submit it. They will verify all information. Once your information checks out, they enter your banner into the rotation (1,000,000 impressions) and will track your clicks.

At the end of the run, the site with the most clicks wins. What does this mean for you? Either you have a lot of time on your hands or you know a lot of people that will spend the day looking for your banner. A winner will be announced at the end of the trillion served. Presently, this is just for fun. If it becomes something more than that, it will be disclosed to all participants.

What are you waiting for? Submit your blog, website, etsy, myspace, facebook, youtube page, bebo, twitter….what ever you want.

Have fun!

P.S. Remember this is absolutely free, there is no catch, besides my own curiosity to see what events happen over the course of the year. Let’s call it a social experiment.
