The Lady in Number 6 is one of the most inspirational and uplifting stories ever told.
109 year old, Alice Herz-Sommer, the world’s oldest pianist and oldest holocaust survivor, shares her views on how to live a long happy life.

“My father always used to say the very wise words, “Put as much as you can into your heads because that’s something nobody can take away from you”, and i think that is so very very true and i think this is where music comes in. The importance of music, because you can actually have music in your head without anybody knowing it is happening.
You can actually go into another world which is a lot nicer than the world we’re actually living in. I knew that, even in this very difficult situation, there are beautiful moments.” -Alice Herz-Sommer
This powerfully inspirational video tells her amazing story of survival and how she managed to use her time in a Nazi concentration camp to empower herself and others with music.
“In 1944, my husband was among thousands who were sent away. His last words to me were, ‘You mustn’t do anything voluntarily.’ I didn’t understand what was in his mind. This was on Monday. Three days afterwards, again thousands were sent away, mothers and children of the men who had already been sent. In the second transport the women went voluntarily because they wanted to meet their husbands. They never met them. So my husband saved our lives.

See the entire documentary and definitely wish her a happy 110th birthday, on or before 26 November 2013.
“Kids all over the world grow up on superheroes, what we, their parents, must remind them, is documentaries tell stories about ‘real superheroes.’ Superheroes are based on great people, real people, like Alice Herz Sommer.” – Nicholas Reed, Producer
Alice’s story demonstrates that the amazing, inspiring, positive side of life can always be chosen, regardless of circumstances.
