National Thank You Month is January!
Enjoy the following gratitude poem plus, above, a gratitude video by Louie Schwartzberg, accompanied by powerful words from Benedictine monk Brother David Steindl-Rast.

Louie’s video begins at 3:45 minutes into the video. However, it’s worth watching his introduction from the beginning.
This gratitude poem may not hold the most accurate of stats for this year and you can search for the correct numbers for yet I think the message is still crystal clear and super relevant.
Gratitude is a powerful emotion that can have a profound impact on our lives. There are many benefits of gratitude and it can be used to improve our health, relationships and overall wellbeing.
If you woke up this morning
with more health than illness,
you are more blessed than the
million people around the world
that won’t survive the week.
If you have never experienced
the danger of battle,
the loneliness of imprisonment,
the agony of torture or
the pangs of starvation,
you are ahead of 820 million
people around the world.
If you have food in your refrigerator,
clothes on your back, a roof over
your head and a place to sleep,
you are richer than 75% of this world.
If you have money in the bank,
in your wallet, and spare change
in a dish someplace, you are among
the top 8% of the world’s wealthy.
If you hold up your head with a smile
on your face and are truly thankful,
you are blessed because the majority
can, but most do not.
If you can hold someone’s hand, hug
them or even touch them on the shoulder,
you are blessed because you can
offer God’s healing touch.
If you can read this message,
you are more blessed than over
1.2 billion people in the world
who cannot read anything at all!
Gratitude has the power to change our perspective. When we are grateful, we are able to see the good in our lives, even in the midst of difficult circumstances. This shift in perspective can help us to feel more positive, optimistic and resilient.

When we express gratitude to the people in our lives, we are able to strengthen our bonds with them and to create more meaningful and fulfilling connections. This can be especially important in times of stress and uncertainty, when our relationships are often put to the test.
Gratitude can be cultivated and practiced. Make gratitude a daily habit by keeping a gratitude journal, writing thank you notes or taking time each day to reflect on the things for which you are thankful.
Gratitude is not only an emotion, it’s also an action. It is important to not only feel grateful, yet also to show it through acts of kindness and generosity. Giving back to the community, volunteering and helping others in need are all ways to express gratitude and to make a positive impact on the world around us.
By cultivating gratitude and making it a daily habit, we can shift our perspective and create more positive, meaningful and fulfilling lives.
