Wisdom On The Web
If you’ve ever caught yourself searching for lasting fulfillment outside yourself; suddenly found yourself mentally spinning ideas such as: “If I could only find the right partner, then I’d be happy…” “If I could only earn X amount of dollars, then I’d feel at peaceful and secure…” “If I could only lose that extra weight, then I’d feel beautiful…” Then, you’ve experienced what renowned spiritual teacher Gangaji calls the idealization trap. Click here to enjoy one of my favorite short videos from one of her many talks. I know it’ll make a difference to you, right now, today! I’ve mainly posted this link here for simply introducing you to Gangaji because I’ve enjoyed so many of her sessions in Youtube on a lazy Saturday afternoon. You might too. Start with the one I added here for you.
Life Power Tip
Conditions are never just right. Even after you die, there will still be “stuff” in your “in-tray”! You may as well begin now, moving toward what you really want. If you are not yet sure of what you really want for your life, then you could begin ‘practicing’, finding the answer to that question. ‘Regret Minimization’ is the name of the game if you have no major goals in mind at this moment.
Action
Exaggerate your ‘complaints’ to such an extent that you end up laughing.
Challenge
Decide to really love and appreciate your job for a day, or longer.
Quote
Every act of conscious learning requires the willingness to suffer injury to our self-esteem. That is why young children, before they are aware of their self-importance, learn so easily; and why older people, especially if vain or arrogant, cannot learn at all. -Thomas Szasz
Clearing
Clean out your handbag, gym bag, and/or workbag.
Question
Do you set yourself tasks or do you live by a created vision?
Affirmation
I choose to feel that my life is a wonderful gift.
Uplifting Extra
Everybody’s Free to Wear Sunscreen By Mary Schmich – Wear Sunscreen or the Sunscreen Speech are the common names of an essay actually called Advice, like youth, probably just wasted on the young written by Mary Schmich and published in the Chicago Tribune as a column in 1997.

More inspired self improvement every day!
It’s difficult to be inspired if you’re stuck in a negative state. Inspiration is not just a flash of vision, it’s a motivation that births creativity.
People who get inspired are usually the ones more eager to jump into a project and stick with it. Inspired people have greater confidence not to doubt themselves.
Every day, seek out personal moments of clarity, increasing your awareness of new possibilities that surround you.
About Forward Steps Notes
These Notes are intended for leisured grazing to collect new thoughts, dreams, ideas, philosophies, possibilities, positives, creatives, tools, software, programs, life power tips and a lot more.
Any content published by me at Forward Steps is never “absolute truth”. I simply direct you to a variety of ideas that prickle your mind and introduce positive resources to better equip your life journey.
In the words of Oliver Wendell Holmes…
“One’s mind, once stretched by a new idea, never regains its original dimensions”.
One favorite saying at my desk, is…
Whatever you focus on, WILL expand! Share on XThat’s one of many reasons that I love to share positive content. Forward Steps is for adding wings to our unique life journey!
Sometimes, you’ll find me recommending or presenting the same product(s) more than one time.
When repeating a training or using a tool that I’ve used or come across before, often I’ll “see” something brand new or have a fresh insight/perspective, that I might not have picked up on earlier. In that moment, perhaps I am finally “ready” to REALLY hear and receive its message or lesson.
It is not unlike seeing a movie for the second time and realizing that I’d not remembered seeing a particular scene, from the first viewing. As Nelson Mandela once said…
“There is nothing like returning to a place that remains unchanged to find the ways in which you yourself have altered.”
When you see something that has already been presented to you once before, then I invite you to revisit it anyhow.
Give up any judgement about whether it is “good” or “bad”. It JUST IS and you are alive, so you’re in luck. You get to choose, again!
I love these words from Gelett Burgess…
“If in the last few years you haven’t discarded a major opinion or acquired a new one, check your pulse. You may be dead.”
Tens of thousands of people, from many countries & backgrounds, receive Forward Steps emails. Everyone is at different stages of their life journey, everyone is looking for different things and experiencing different things.
Some of us learn best by hearing, others are more visual and yet others love to gather information by reading. This makes for a phenomenal challenge, in satisfying everybody’s individual needs and preferences. Even should we assume “that nothing is impossible” – this challenge gives an awfully good impression of “impossible”!
We are all different. Seldom one solution fits all. I provide a vast array of resources (hundreds, in fact) to cater for a multi-dimensional audience and I always recommend you remember this quote…
Absorb what is useful, discard what is not and add what is uniquely your own. -Bruce Lee Share on XIn Lak’ech Ala K’in,
